Z Venture Capital ("ZVC") has invested in the Series B round of MJOLNIR SPACEWORKS Co., Ltd. ("MSW"), a company pursuing the mass production of hybrid rocket engines and high-performance space-grade tanks.

With the acceleration of private-sector space development, global demand for small satellite launches is rising rapidly. However, launch capacity has not kept pace, and a growing number of satellites are waiting for opportunities to reach orbit. Both in Japan and abroad, there is a critical shortage of players capable of mass-producing rocket engines safely and affordably.

MSW is a deep-tech startup originating from Hokkaido University, developing its proprietary "CAMUI-type hybrid rocket engine" technology.

The engine adopts a hybrid propulsion method that uses plastic as fuel, offering three core advantages: a high level of safety, a simple structure with fewer components, and suitability for low-cost mass production. MSW has already successfully conducted a ground combustion test of one of the largest privately developed hybrid rocket engines in Japan.

The company has also developed proprietary "weldless tank" technology with no seams, enabling stable quality, shorter lead times, and lower costs.

As private-sector space development accelerates, expanding the supply of rockets that carry satellites into orbit will be essential to the growth of the entire space industry. We are confident that MSW — with its ability to mass-produce rocket engines and tanks safely and affordably — will play a pivotal role in resolving this supply constraint.
